Friends of San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden (San Luis Obispo Botanical Gardens)

The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden is dedicated to educating the community about the ecosystems of plants found in the five Mediterranean climate regions of the world. Our programs are designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of the natural world, providing a strong foundation in science and ecology. Led by educators with expertise in environmental sciences and teaching, children experience high-quality learning while exploring diverse topics such as insects, animal tracks and scat, bugs, rocks, and the rich local flora and fauna. Through hands-on activities like nature journaling, creative crafts, and scientific and technological exploration, participants gain a deeper appreciation for the region’s incredible biodiversity.
