Sol Shine Learning

My name is Andrea Soto and I’ve been a dedicated educator in the Santa Barbara area for nearly 20 years. I taught at Canalino School in Carpinteria from 2006-2012, Crane Country Day School from 2012-2024, and tutored Heartland and other local families in 2024- present. I hold a valid clear multiple subject California teaching credential for grades TK-6 and have been trained in a variety of curriculums including: IMSE (an Orton-Gillingham based language arts curriculum), Lucy Calkins Writing Workshop, Singapore Math, and Bridges Math. At the heart of my educational philosophy is my belief in a deep and sincere human connection with each student. Tutoring sessions balance game and play-based learning with direct and systematic instruction. All sessions are hands-on, multi-sensory, and often tailored to individual student interests and passions. I’m an avid sports fan and dedicated Swiftie so you can expect us to be movin’, groovin’, and learnin’ all at the same time!
