Janet Arthur (A Town Sew & Tutoring Studio)

A-Town Sewing Studio is located in Atascadero. Miss Janet has been sewing for over 60 years and has a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. We teach Sewing Machine Basics including threading machine and bobbin, safety, parts of the machine, & how to maintain it. Students will learn how to read and use a pattern to complete a project. As students continue in classes, they will also learn different stitches, making buttonholes, inserting zippers, etc. In a safe and comfortable setting, students learn a lifelong skill that grows self esteem, teaches resourcefulness, encourages ceativity, learn problem-solving skills, improves math skills, and gives them pride in something that they make themselves. Each class is 1.25 hours per week, and each class consists of 4-6 students. K-6th grade tutoring in core subjects.
